MEMPHIS, TENN.—Key leaders representing the global constituency of the Christian Methodist Episcopal (CME) Church have engaged Marshall and Associates Consulting to lead the denomination in a comprehensive strategic ministry planning process.

The goal of this process is to create an actionable ministry plan for the denomination by engaging the church’s leadership team of lay and clergy and the general membership.  The anticipated plan will address key issues such as (a) clarifying the strategic vision for the denomination’s future mission and ministry; (b) outlining core ministry priorities that will guide the denomination’s ministry operations; and (c) discerning the most effective alignment of personnel, structures and resources to accomplish that strategic vision.

“We are excited to engage with Marshall and Associates Consulting in this strategic ministry planning process, said Senior Bishop Lawrence Reddick of Dallas.  “This is a unique opportunity for us to unite and discern God’s best plans for our future together.”

This initiative is being funded in part by a grant from the Lilly Endowment, and will be a comprehensive, data-driven, and participatory planning process.

The Reverend Shaun Douglas Marshall of Marshall and Associates Consulting will serve as Principal Consultant.

The initiative is under the joint direction of Senior Bishop Reddick (chair), Bishop C. James King, Jr. (vice chair), and a Strategic Planning Task Force of international CME leaders.
